Maroon House
FORT MYERS, FL
Maroon House is an urban pastor collective on a mission to address the real and difficult work of planting, pastoring, and leading urban churches by fostering soul care, curating community, and developing resources specifically designed for urban ministry.
Founded by Charlie Mitchell in 2004, Maroon House works to empower black and brown Christian leaders to make a lasting impact on their communities. They desire to help bridge the resource gap and ensure urban church leaders can thrive and authentically transform their neighborhoods.
Maroon House is named after the historical term (maroon) for enslaved people who escaped and built diverse communities on the continents of North and South America. These people had a God-sized vision that they could live free and welcome those who were oppressed.
Maroon House aims to show others that there is another way, a more fruitful way, a path to freedom so that they can flourish where God has called them. They firmly believe that black and brown neighborhoods deserve resources, mentors, and leadership opportunities designed by individuals who share similar culture and experiences.
If you share Maroon House’s vision for supporting black and brown Christian leaders, please partner with them through prayer and giving.
