Antonio Mauro

I am serving in Italy as a Missionary leader at Nuova Vita Church in Salerno, a southern city about an hour from Naples. Salerno is situated between the Mediterranean Sea and the beautiful inland mountains of Cava. Much like the rest of Italy, it has a long history of Catholic tradition and is therefore a very challenging spiritual climate for the spread of the gospel. In addition to this, our culture has been deeply impacted by a post-Christian worldview that sees spiritual matters as irrelevant. 

As a church, like many other evangelical churches in Italy, we represent less the 1% of the population in our city. Our church was planted by an American missionary couple in 2011 and is now transitioning to a fully Italian leadership team. As a vibrant mission to our city, we are very passionate about gospel-centered discipleship and preaching.

I feel personally connected to our particular church context as I was born and raised in Naples, Italy and therefore understand the culture and the needs of the people in Salerno. 

I serve at Nuova Vita church on the leadership team, specifically overseeing the ongoing vision of the church, the preaching and the teaching of the Word, as well as discipleship and evangelism to both people inside and outside the walls of Nuova Vita.
