In Italy, there is only 1% confessing evangelical Christians, and within that 1%, it is difficult to find truly Gospel-centered churches. It is even more difficult to find Christian Italians with a missional mindset or the desire to dedicate themselves to mission.

My hometown, Salerno, is in a spiritually-numb condition, an almost dead town, due to the overwhelming religious rituals of Catholic tradition. The people appear to be in a coma-like state with no reaction to the announcement of the Gospel. They need to be awakened, to be cured, to be reborn. Rehabilitation happens as they are exposed to the Gospel and as they have the opportunity to interact with other believers.

As a native and as a partner with Nuova Vita Church, I am called to be one of the caregivers. My background and my culture means I understand MY people better than anyone from any other place or city. Until 2016, I claimed to be an active Catholic. I taught Catholic catechism for years. I taught kids and teenagers so many other things about Christ which were rooted in tradition rather than in truth.

Ten years ago, God started pursuing me by planting seeds and watering my faith day-by-day, year-after-year, through missionaries and pastors and Christian friends. 

The idea that God could use me to change someone else’s life as He used them in my life makes my heart explode because now my heart aches for them, MY PEOPLE.

During a two-year internship, I was given the opportunity to learn how to disciple other women, to lead the women’s ministry in the church, and to study theology while supporting the student ministry on the university campus of Salerno. Today, I am a Missionary leading at Nuova Vita Church.

I said YES to God’s call, but for this purpose, I need a team of ministry partners who are willing to offer both prayer and financial support. Would you be willing to say yes and to join my team?
